First Aid

Proper first aid always comes across as a big respite when handling different health and medical emergencies. First aid is considered crucial because timely help in case of an emergency can save the injured person’s life. Besides saving the injured person's life, it helps make the recovery process faster, saves huge healthcare costs, and prevents the likelihood of injury from getting worse. It is very necessary to get first aid as soon as possible. Otherwise in worst cases the acid penetrates to the bone which could be fatal for the patient's life. After completing the two steps, make sure to rush the patient to the nearest hospital immediately.

Step One

One of the most important steps of first aid is to immediately wash the affected body part(s) of the patient. Only wash the affected parts with fresh or saline water. This is so that the affected part(s) don’t get infected. Using fresh or saline water also immensely encourages the healing process. If you do use dirty or unclean water, you have a chance of developing a severe infection. Additionally, when washing the affected part(s) with fresh or saline water, make sure to use plenty of it.

Continue flushing the affected part(s) with a lot of cool water. This water shouldn’t be extremely cold. Repeat this process until the patient’s burning sensation slowly starts to fade away. This normally takes about 30 to 45 minutes. Make sure not to apply any kind of ointment or cream onto the affected area. This is because it might slow down the treatment procedure taken by doctors. Lastly, if possible, use sterilized gauze to loosely wrap the affected area. This will protect the affected area from being contaminated. Rush the patient immediately to the closest hospital.
